About Dr. Karann Putrevu
I graduated with honors from Cornell University in 2016 with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in biological engineering (biomedical engineering concentration) and biological sciences (computational biology concentration).
I received my PhD in Environment and Resources in 2025, working in Dr. Adrian Treves’ Carnivore Coexistence Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My PhD research focused on large carnivore ecology, conservation, and management, with the following sub-field foci: Amur tiger predator ecology and the landscape of fear, Bayesian analysis of large carnivore censusing methods, and modeling the effects of prey depletion on Amur tiger populations due to the ongoing African Swine Fever epidemic.
